INFOFEST 2026: HUMAN IN THE LOOP

The INFOFEST Organizing Committee has selected Human in the Loop as the central theme of INFOFEST 2026.

Digital transformation is entering a new phase. Artificial intelligence is no longer simply a collection of advanced algorithms or a tool for automating individual processes. It is becoming part of the critical infrastructure of modern society, reshaping the way value is created, economies evolve, and decisions are made.

Today, the success of AI depends on far more than the performance of models. It relies on compute capacity, data centers, connectivity, energy, cybersecurity, regulation, and the sustainable management of critical resources. AI is therefore becoming an infrastructure challenge as much as a technological one.

At the same time, the role of people is changing.

As intelligent systems become increasingly capable of analyzing information, generating recommendations, and executing complex tasks, the importance of human judgment, accountability, and strategic decision-making continues to grow. The future will depend not only on how intelligent our systems become, but on how responsibly people govern their use.

This is why Human in the Loop is more than a technical concept. It represents the principle that sustainable digital transformation requires people to remain at the center of responsibility, trust, and value creation.

Through this theme, INFOFEST 2026 will explore the major transformations shaping the digital future.

The conference program will focus on five interconnected areas:

  • AI as a driver of systemic transformation – how intelligent systems are reshaping business, government, and society;
  • Digital infrastructure – the growing importance of data centers, compute, connectivity, energy, and resilient digital ecosystems;
  • The transformation of work and organizations – new skills, human-AI collaboration, and evolving business models;
  • Access, resilience, and digital sovereignty – cybersecurity, governance, equitable access to technology, and resilient digital infrastructure;
  • The broader societal impact of AI – implications for education, the economy, energy, public services, and culture.

INFOFEST 2026 will bring together leaders from business, government, academia, the technology industry, and international organizations to discuss how to build a digital future in which technological progress enhances human capabilities while preserving human responsibility.

Under the theme Human in the Loop, INFOFEST will provide a platform for discussions on the business value of AI, digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, the future of work, and the development of intelligent societies.

From September 27 to 30, 2026, in Budva, Montenegro, INFOFEST will once again bring together the leaders of digital transformation to shape a responsible, resilient, and human-centered digital future.
